Spooked a deer as soon as I started walking down the trail leading to my stand. Minutes after I climbed up in the stand and sat down, I heard a deer blow behind me and turned to see a doe and fawn standing about 30 yards away. The momma doe walked within 20 yards and then turned and walked away the way they came. Around 8:30am a doe walked in about 40 yards away in front of me before leaving the way it came. At 9:00am I heard something behind me and looked to see a tall racked 8 point walking up. I waited for it to step out in my shooting lane, at 25 yards away quartering towards me I took the shot but it was short and went right under him. He stopped for a moment while I nocked another arrow but he slipped away before I could get another shot. After getting down to check for blood just in case I only found two little specks, nothing on the arrow, looks like I just gave him a close shave. Needless to say I was very disappointed.
